Overview
Bayfikr is UAE based Pakistani fintech startup that wants Overseas Pakistanis to have a peace of mind. No need to set up bank accounts to pay your Pakistani bills. Just pay instantly with your normal credit/debit card or your UK bank account using our app. They already had a website bayfikr.net and a mobile application over Google Play Store.
Their goal was to enhance visual design while following the same user journey. I was hired to revamp their mobile application: making it more simple and easy to interact with.
Problem Statement
In order to create a seamless user experience and create an aesthetic design, I started my research by getting insight from my stakeholders and asked them about their competition’s likes and dislikes from their competition available in the market. I also analyze their application thoroughly and find out the following pain points:
- Brand personality was missing.
- Visual aesthetics were not up to date and lost their sense of attractiveness.
- Users feel uncomfortable while using their services as their brand personality was not delivered properly.
- Components and assets used in design were creating a sense for the user to lose customer trust over their product.
Research and Define
I also looked at our competitors and applications who have the same structure to get some inspiration and ideas about the component and visual hierarchy.
I also looked around to find more inspiration and created a mood board to understand stakeholders state of mind and understand do’s and not do’s while revamping it. The idea was to get as many relevant components from different designs to get their input.
Audience
Our audience overseas Pakistani who face a lot of problems while paying utility bills for your family, school and university fees for your children, hospital fees for your loved ones, government payments and much more., Add different debit/credit cards for safe payment or pay instantly from your UK bank account.
Team / Role
My role within the team as Visual / UX Designer was to revamp Bayfikr Mobile App design to provide customers with clean, easy to use, visually appealing mobile applications which can communicate with design in a better way.
Working continuously and tirelessly end-to-end from user research to creating wireframes for building structure and finalizing product in terms of prototype. We are more creative and focusing toward ideas, aiming to incorporate stakeholder feedback along the way.
Constraints
While working with Bayfikr, the biggest challenge is using the same resources, components and user flow to revamp the visual design as stakeholders were already quite satisfied with the flow. We aim to convert design into a sleek, simple and clear design.
Design Process
Thriving for creating a successful Bayfikr Mobile App. We divided our process into following steps.
1. Requirement Elicitation
Prompt the stakeholder to fill out a survey form. Survey forms include sets of questions to get a better understanding of their current design, market competition, design inspirations and pain points they are facing.
2. Define Modeboard
Created a mood board to understand stakeholders vision about their product and create a strategy to move forward. You can see the moodboard above.
3. Revamp Style Guide
Created style guide based on their logo while keeping in mind their vision about their product. AS they were not sure about the tone to use in their color scheme. So I provided them with multiple options.
4. Kick Off Work
Create rough templates of initial few screens with multiple variations to get first input asap from the client.
5. Visual Designs
Creating visual designs based on insights, Product branding guidelines and wireframes created. Along the way we provided the stakeholders with multiple representations of each component so that they can be sure what they need.
6. Final Work
After so many back and forth iterations, we were able to finalize the design on which stakeholders show their satisfaction.
